Please help me! I need tips on taking pictures at concerts with a digital camera.?

With the aperture stop of your camera you influence the depth of field (DOF), which is the distance in front of and behind the subject which appears to be in focus.
Most cameras can be switched to aperture mode, usually called A. In this mode, you can select the aperture manually.

In food photography you usually want to keep the focus on the subject, the meal itself and not something in the fore- or background. Try out smaller f-numbers
